I got a killer blister on my toe today.
I started back to school yesterday. We have professional development days for most of the week, following the initial whole district pep rally during which we had an entire auditorium sing-a-long to Lean On Me this year. With clapping and swaying. My electing not to get up does not downplay my pride in being a teacher. I’m just not a sing-a-long girl. Does that surprise you at all? No. Probably not.
To today’s PD, I wore these shoes:
It was weird that I got a blister because these are one of my most comfortable pairs of heels. I would expect some blistering/callusing early in the spring, but in late August?? I was REAL off my game. UNTIL I realized that being a stay-at-home-mom in the summer does not necessitate frequent heel wearing days, to which I had grown accustomed to every summer prior to this one. WHICH led me to THIS realization: Being a stay-at-home-mom is rewarding, completely worth it, and fulfilling, but it does NOT keep your feet stiletto ready.
The intriguing and still unsolved mystery is that these were what I was wearing yesterday, sans blisters. Curiouser and curiouser…
